Information/Autograph request

Picture postcard sent by Bray to The Commander, HMS Conqueror, c/o GPO, London on 29th August 1906 asking for his autograph and some information to be supplied.

I can find very little information about this particular "Conqueror" apart from the following which, if correct, implies that the date on the front of the card should mbe 1881 and not 1891.

Conqueror participated in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1890 under the command of Captain Henry J. Carr as part of the Hostile Fleet tasked with threatening British trade routes.

In early 1891 she was a tender to Cambridge at Devonport.

Two Mark IV 6-in guns were brought aboard in Devonport on 25 January 1892, though they were still awaiting their mountings. They were to replace two Mark I models similar to one which had burst aboard Cordelia
