Picture postcard sent to Bray by The Keeper, Cranbrook Castle on 15th January 1905.
It would appear that Bray sent his original request on 4th January and this card was sent back to replace Bray's card.
Sir Charles Raymond built this crenellated tower on the Highlands estate in 1765 as a mausoleum for his family. However, no one was ever buried there; instead, Raymond and his wife Sarah were buried at St. Margaret's at Barking. After Raymond died in 1788 his daughters sold Highlands to Sir James Tylney-Long and it was merged into the Wanstead estate. Highlands was demolished early in the 19th century but the castle survived until 1923 when it was demolished to make way for a tennis club.
